Manager’s End of the Season Statement

With the confirmation that the league is now over, as a group we are gutted. As it was set up to be an interesting end to the season. That said, there are more important things in life and the health and safety of people especially friends and family are priority.

This season on the whole has been a good one, after a poor start and a few changes within the team, we turned a corner and have gone on a great run of form. which saw us get a place in the cup semi final, 11 unbeaten in the league and only losing one game since November, This has put us in the right direction as a club and moving forward we hope this continues.

I’d like to thanks the players for their commitment this season, they have been a joy to manage. we have some very good footballers at the club and the atmosphere in the dressing room is one of the best I have been around. I hope they have enjoyed playing for us this season and will stick with us moving forward. they have backed me even in the rough times and i cannot thank them enough for their backing.

I would like to that the fans and volunteers at the club, their support has been fantastic, both at home and more so away, the numbers that have come to our games is brilliant to see.  i hope as a management team and playing squad we have given you a team proud to watch.  The work that goes off behind the scenes is unbelievable, I knew people put a lot of commitment and time into a non league club, but actually running a first team and being around the club more really opened my eyes to what some of these people do. and I cannot thank them enough. without them this club wouldn’t be what is it.

I’d finally like to thank the Chairman and Vice Chairman for their support and backing this season, and also my management team, cogs, Luke and Mouse (Simon), who are all committed to the cause and give 100%. you need people around you that you can trust and who back you… and I am certainly lucky and have that.

The Reserves, U21’s and U18’s  staff have all worked tirelessly this season and have helped bring the club closer together as we wanted. and your efforts are greatly appreciated. we have had a number of young talent at the club progress through this season and have made their senior debuts, George white, Alex Bennett, Alex Bartholomew, Kian Jackson to name a few, and there has also been several in the first team squad who haven’t quite got their chance yet but i am sure it will come. Its does show that as a club there is a pathway to the first team, which was one of my main aims when I took the job.

So with this season ending… there is another round the corner. when the dust settles on this tough time for the country we can sit down and look to what the future will bring.I hope that everyone continues to follow and support us and are proud to watch this Badgers team. we will continue to strive for the best and bring success to the club again. I want to wish you all well, keep safe, stay healthy and I will see you again soon.
