Badgers in the making…

Whilst RUFC Juniors is run independently from RUFC, there is plenty of interaction and the relationship between us can’t be much stronger. We are practically affiliated. RUFC Coaching staff always aim to attend, join in and help junior training sessions throughout the year where they can, however they are very busy with their own dedication to the First Team, Reserves and U21’S team but still push to help the Juniors. 

The U18’s Juniors are seen as very valuable for RUFC and work very closely with the club many of the players go straight into U21’S or Reserves to be a part of the Club. We have had 4-5 during this 2019/20 season who have been selected for matches. The Under 18’s even get to play on the 1st team senior pitch which they really are thrilled about. Also the first team pitch has been used Kid’s Summer Camps and other training sessions for the Junior section.

The club has a desire to develop the fields behind Cannon Park into training pitches in the coming years which may be used by both RUFC and RUFC Juniors. We also see vast support at First Team Match days from the junior section, Coaches and many kids that play for junior teams appear week in, week out to support the club and they are also given free admission to all home games so this support carries on.

I and the Juniors Chairman Andy Hand have the same aspirations for the club and the future of it. We have regular meetings to continue the development of our respective clubs at both levels.
