Former Maltby Main FC Joint Manager, Mark Askwith has joined Liam’s Team in the form of Assistant Manager. We know that Mark has excellent communication skills and is a very hard working person; additionally he brings 15 years of managing experience to the team, which is absolutely vital at this level of non-league.
We couldn’t have had a worse start to the season, as a group we know and have discussed the performances and know they weren’t good enough and we have dropped too, many cheap points. But we have worked hard on the training Ground and stuck together.

As our first preseason game approaches, I am looking more and more forward to the season starting! There is a good buzz about the club and more importantly within the players; we have had a good start to pre-season having over 40 players to each of the training sessions. As a management team we have worked hard to bring a few new faces to the first team fold this season and we have been impressed with the quality and standard these lads have brought to the club.
Now we have come to the end of the season, and preparations for the season ahead have begun, I think it is only right that I show my appreciation to our ever loyal Retford United Supporters Club.
It is important to the club and that we appoint the right management team that can help bring to life our ambitious plans. We have been inundated with applications and this is not a decision we have taken lightly.
It is my pleasure to announce that Liam Kay as of this week has been appointed as First team manager. Liam has shown his drive and ambition whilst managing the development team.
