A Fond Farewell to Ryan Hindley and a New Chapter for Retford United.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the departure of our First Team Manager, Ryan Hindley, who has today resigned from his position to take up an exciting opportunity to manage at Step 3 of the football pyramid.
Whilst naturally I am extremely disappointed to see Ryan leave us, I also recognise that opportunities like this are a reflection of the outstanding job he has done at Retford United Football Club over the past four and a half years. During his time with us, Ryan has achieved something truly special. Two promotions, countless memorable moments and, perhaps most importantly, a real sense of togetherness and belief throughout our football club.
Ryan has been much more than just our manager. He has been a loyal, dedicated and thoroughly professional individual who has given everything to this club. His commitment, passion and desire to succeed have never been in question, and he leaves with the enormous respect of myself, the Board, our players, staff, volunteers and, of course, our wonderful supporters.
Football is an emotional game, and when someone has been such an important part of your club for so long, saying goodbye is never easy.
However, I have always believed that when people give their all to your football club, you should never stand in the way of an opportunity for them to progress. Ryan has earned this opportunity, and although we will miss him enormously, he goes with my wholehearted support and very best wishes.
Ryan, on a personal note, thank you. Thank you for your loyalty, your honesty, your professionalism and, above all, for everything you have done for Retford United. You have helped create memories that will stay with this football club for many years to come. You leave us not just as a successful manager, but as a friend of the club who will always be welcome back.
Looking Ahead
As Chairman, my responsibility is not only to recognise and celebrate what we have achieved, but also to ensure that our football club continues to move forward. I am therefore delighted to confirm that Jas, who has worked alongside Ryan as his assistant throughout this successful period, has been appointed as our new First Team Manager.
This appointment is one I have made with absolute confidence. Jas knows this football club inside out. He knows the players, understands the dressing room, shares the values we have built our success upon and has played an integral part in our achievements over recent seasons.
Continuity, stability and togetherness are incredibly important, particularly at this stage of the season. I firmly believe that Jas is the right person to lead us forward and build upon the foundations that he and Ryan have worked so hard to establish.
To our players, staff and supporters, my message is simple: we remain united, we remain ambitious, and our belief in what we are building at Retford United has not changed.
Managers and players will inevitably come and go in football, but the strength of any successful club lies in its people, its values and its togetherness. We have worked incredibly hard to reach Step 5, and we have absolutely no intention of standing still.
I ask everyone associated with Retford United to give Jas the same tremendous support you have shown Ryan over the years. I know he will give everything he has to this football club, and he has my full backing.
Finally, I would once again like to thank Ryan for four and a half wonderful years. Two promotions speak volumes about his achievements, but the respect and affection he has earned from everyone associated with Retford United say even more about the man himself.
Thank you, Ryan. We wish you every success in the next chapter of your career.
And to Jas, welcome to the next chapter. Let’s continue what we started.
