Carlton Carty is set to embark on a memorable journey this week after receiving an international call-up to represent Anguilla in their next four competitive fixtures in the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League.
The Nations League is one of Concacaf’s major international competitions, bringing together national teams from across North and Central America and the Caribbean. The 2026/27 competition also serves as part of the qualification pathway for the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Carlton heads off on Thursday to meet up with the Anguilla squad, bringing to a close a lengthy process involving medical checks, documentation and detailed travel itineraries.
The call-up has been made possible through Carlton’s grandfather’s Anguillan heritage, giving the opportunity an even greater personal significance for the midfielder.
Speaking ahead of his departure, Carlton said:
“I’m looking forward to the experience. Not the long flights or airport missions, but the games and training will be brilliant. I don’t know what to expect, so it’s all new to me. The lads here are deep down buzzing for me, but they’ve given me a lot of banter about this! It’s a proud moment for me and my family.”
For Carlton, the next few weeks will be about embracing a completely new experience, testing himself at international level and making the most of the opportunity to represent a country connected to his family through his grandfather.
It promises to be an exciting new chapter in Carlton’s football journey as he swaps club football for the international stage and experiences competitive international football with Anguilla.
